Has the Vikings as the 7th best team in the league and the third in the NFC behind the Giants and Cowboys. Here is what he said.

7. Minnesota. I can hear you all out there saying, "Too soon." Well, here's my question: What year in recent NFL history hasn't a Green Bay (2007), New Orleans (2006), Chicago (2005) or Pittsburgh (2004) jumped from nowheresville to Super-Bowl contention?

The Vikings do have a totally unproven passing game, but they still outscored Philly, Washington and Denver last year with the best running game in the league for about half the season. Minnesota had the biggest (by far) edge in average rushing margin per team last year, rushing for 5.3 yards a tote while surrendering 3.1 yards per carry. And though I don't love the Jared Allen signing for the long haul (too dangerous), I love it for 2008. Allen's quickness on the turf of the Metrodome ... scary. Maybe 20-sack scary.
I know we all tend to color things Purple here, but can you think of better teams in the NFC?

It is good to see the national press start to hop on the old bandwagon.

I think that's exactly right.

Can't "on paper" right now put us ahead of those two teams. But just slyly grinning as we keep putting gunpowder in the gun reading for the upcoming season.

Giants? We know what they are. A couple of lucky plays away from being also-rans.

Dallas? Just buy Jessica a fatass gift certificate to the Mall of America to go along with NFC Title tickets at the 'Dome and they're taken care of...

Watching NFL Live today got a great joke.

Schlereth tags the Vikings as "over-rated" because of Tavaris and lack of production.

Then they turn around and make the packers #10 without word ONE of having zero experience @ QB!

What a freaking joke. Can the get off the "can't win w/ Jackson" tired ass angle to their '08 season ?

Well he was on ESPN - which seems to becoming worse and worse with their commentary; they seem to have a hatred over there for everything purple.

I just hope King didn't give us the kiss of death by ranking us so high. I actually think we could be higher than 7, but I remember what happened a couple of years ago when he predicted we'd go to the Super Bowl.

I am actually expecting a BIG year from T-Jack. I hope I'm not getting myself too excited, but I think that kid might blossom into something SCARY this year. Here's hopin'!
