New England ...38
New York ..........35
The Patriots achieve the sweet 16 going undefeated in this time of free agency and parity.  Many records were set including the all time scoring record of the '98 Vikings.  The common denominator was outstanding play and Randy Moss.

The Patriots are perfect

The Patriots completed a perfect regular season with a 38-35 win over the host New York Giants on Saturday night. Laurence Maroney's 5-yard touchdown run proved to be the game-winning score. Tom Brady and Randy Moss set single-season records for touchdowns as the pair connected twice on touchdowns.

Brady hit Moss on a 65-yard touchdown bomb in the fourth quarter for his 50th touchdown of the season, breaking the previous record held by Peyton Manning. That was touchdown No. 23 for Moss, who broke the record held by Jerry Rice who set the mark in 12 games in 1987.

This thread discusses the Content article: A Perfect Season

You first have to hand it to the Giants for showing up for this "meaningless" game. There was almost a playoff atmosphere as the game took place and history was made.

I had the daughter's boyfriend here watching the game with me and he is spouting how the Giants will unbelievably beat the Pats when they trailed by 12 in the third quarter.

"Just wait," I said, "there is still plenty of time."

What a comeback against the best playing Giants that I've seen all year!

Congrats to the whole team, but in particular to Randy Moss for making Old Red look to be even a bigger idiot. The two greatest offenses in the history included one thing... Randy Moss!

I do hope the Pats continue to run the table and truly achieve perfection and join (and shut up) the '72 Dolphins as immortals.

(The only exception to that would be a Vikings victory over them in the Super Bowl, but that is the Sam Adams in me fueling my dream.)

Congratulations New England and your football Patriots!
