Vikings offensive lineman Bryant McKinnie pled not guilty to charges stemming from his involvement in a brawl outside a Miami nightclub in February, his attorney, Larry Kerr, said Monday.

Kerr declined further comment, and McKinnie has been unavailable for comment.

A hearing is scheduled in Miami-Dade (Fla.) County Court for April 11.

McKinnie was arrested early Feb. 24, outside of Miami's Club Space.

This thread discusses the Content article: Minnesota Vikings' Bryant McKinnie pleads not guilty

Video?

Bryant McKinnie is going to do everything possible to get acquitted especially when faced with being labeled as a repeat offender in the NFL's bad boy program, thus, the non guilty plea. Does he and his lawyer asking for a jury trial think that will delay the process or get the prosecutor to reduce charges? That I suspect is the game plan because I can't see how a 300 lb NFL lineman with a history of confrontations and not so civilized behavior is going to come across to a jury as the sympathetic victim. [But that is just my opinion.]

I'm curious if there is any security camera (or other camera) footage of what allegedly took place?

Viking Update has the most damaging point to all of this in the fact plea or not, McKinnie is hurting the team because of an almost sure suspension.
The bigger issue for McKinnie, whose next court appearance is set for April 11, is that he could face a fine or suspension from the league and/or the Vikings. McKinnie is already in the system for the league’s personal conduct policy. The league policy calls for suspensions for those players that have been arrested more than once. McKinnie has been arrested four times in the last six years. [emphasis mine] Two of those charges were eventually dropped.

While the case still has to move forward, the felony battery count is something the league is going to look at very closely. Some may think that the league will wait to have the case adjudicated before taking any action, but Commissioner Roger Goodell has been proactive when it comes to handing down suspensions. Pac Man Jones, for example, was suspended for a year before any of his court dealings were finalized.

Was Pac Man arrested 6 times? Bryant may have him beat there, but it would be close.

Childress' quote yesterday on the subject,
“I know … [reporters] don’t want to hear, ‘Until I get the facts,’” Childress said. “But we could face some difficult decisions down the road. … Some [decisions] are tougher than others.”
An almost sure fire suspension by the league, an owner that wants his players not to embarrass him with off field behavior, and a 48.5 million contract extension make some "difficult decisions" you betcha! Then throw in the fact, that quality left tackles are few and far between, and though McKinnie is not great, he is good, especially compared to most of his contemporaries.

I saw a youtube video yesterday of BK in a strip club. It wasn't very pretty...I don't see him getting with the program and it's too bad.
